Launch of 2011 Festival
The launch of the 2011 Queen of the Land Festival sponsored by FBD will take place in the Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore on Friday 21st October.

The press launch for this years 46th Queen of the Land Festival sponsored by FBD will take place in the Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore on Friday 21st October.
The festival celebrates its 46th anniversary this year with a packed line-up of entertainment in Tullamore over the weekend of November 11th - 13th.
The festival has gained a new premier sponsor for the event, FBD.
Deric Hartigan 3e weather presenter will return to act as M.C. over the weekend. Also on hand will be the judging panel for this years contest. They are: Amanda Brennan from main sponsors FBD; the reigning Queen of the Land, Sherine Prendergast from South Tipperary and Henry Healy (President Barack Obama's 8th Cousin).
There will be a wide variety of queens competing this year including students, teachers, managers and even a beef farmer. Festival Chairperson Ronan Feighery is looking forward to this years event which she believes will be the best year of the festival ever. "We have pulled out all the stops to make this year special. No expense has been spared to bring the best entertainment to Tullamore the second weekend in November" she said.
On Friday night top Bernard O'Shea will take to the stage. Doors open at 8.30pm, tickets €15 available from the Bridge House.
The Queens will face interviews with the judging panel in the Bridge House from 8.00am on Saturday 12th November. The group travels to The Wolftrap in the afternoon where they will be introduced to their escorts. The Queens will be put through their paces by MC Deric Hartigan for the onstage interviews. These begin at 8pm sharp in the Tullamore Court Hotel. Music afterward by The Lols, entry €15 at the door.
The Gala Banquet takes place at 7pm on Sunday 13th November at the Bridge House Hotel. The announcement and crowning of the 2011 Queen of the Land sponsored by FBD will take place at 11pm. Music by Fiesta.
